Board of Aldermen Call Special Meeting to Consider "Brunch Bill" Ordinance

The Carrboro Board of Aldermen will hold a special meeting on Monday, July 3rd  so that residents and visitors can begin enjoying their Sunday brunch with a mimosa or Bloody Mary as early as 10:00 a.m. at Carrboro establishments.

Under previous North Carolina law, alcohol sales were prohibited before noon on Sundays. Governor Cooper signed Senate Bill 155, commonly called the “Brunch Bill,” into law on June 30th, authorizing cities and counties to allow alcohol sales at restaurants and stores beginning at 10:00 a.m. on Sundays. The Board of Aldermen will meet on Monday, July 3rd at 6:00PM at Carrboro Town Hall (301 W. Main St.) to consider an ordinance that will officially authorize 10:00 a.m. Sunday sales in Carrboro.
