    Cosponsored by the ArtsCenter

Authentic Tuscan cuisine prepared, cooked, served and eaten by you! Caroleena, who learned regional cooking from the masters, cracks the mysterious code of Tuscan cooking and translates her very special language into easy, delicious and healthy meals that you will "carry-out" with you for a lifetime. Beginning with written step-by-step recipes, each class culminates in a shared, family-style dinner. All dinners include a quick "antipasto" (appetizer), "primo piatto" (starch, first course), "secondo piatto" (a protein), "contorno" (side dish), "pane" (bread), "formaggio" (cheese) and a seasonal fruit. Buon Appetito! $100 for food, paid to instructor first class. Please note: This class takes place at the Century Center at the intersection of Weaver and Greensboro Streets in Carrboro. Register at the ArtsCenter. No class 10/8.

    DIGITAL PHOTOGRAPHY WORKFLOW

    Cosponsored by the ArtsCenter

Once in a great while a new computer program comes out that is both relatively easy to learn and has the power to make a tremendous change in how and what we can accomplish in certain domains, and I believe that Lightroom is such a program for casual, amateur, and professional photographers. Adobe produces Photoshop Elements and Photoshop, programs that many use to "edit" or manipulate their images. After covering important concepts of "workflow" (everything that you do from when you take the picture till you have the desired print, online image, enlargement, or whatever "done" means to you), we will demonstrate key features of Lightroom. You can download a trial version of the software to use during the class. Just watch and take notes or bring your Mac or Windows laptop to class and "play along". You will find Lightroom to be a time-saver in managing and presenting your pictures, whether you take a dozen pictures a month or a few hundred in a day. Register at the ArtsCenter.
