  1. The Power of Place, Parks and Quality of Life

    Join us to get the latest insight into the development of Chatham County! The Town of Pittsboro Parks Department and the Chatham Economic Development Corporation (EDC) will host a forum, The Power of Place, Parks and Quality of Life: An Economic Development Perspective, on Tuesday, April 11, from 9 to 11 a.m. Three experts will unveil their insight on how investments in parks and recreation and economic development go hand in hand. Paul Horne, Parks Planner for the Town of Pittsboro, will moderate the panel discussion. Panelists include: The forum joins forces with the town’s ongoing effort to encourage public participation and input for the development of a long-term Parks System Master Plan. The forum will be held Chatham County Agriculture and Conference Center at 1192 US 64 W Business in Pittsboro.   2. Toddler Preschool Playtime

    April 11, 2017, 10:00 AM - 12:00 PM @ Carrboro Century Center - Century Hall

    Parents and young children (5 & under) can come enjoy some unstructured playtime in the spacious Century Hall. There will be music to dance to, blocks, crawl tunnels, and other toys to play with and plenty of space. It will be a great opportunity to meet new friends and playmates. No registration required. Ages: 1-5

  3. Periodic Tables: Taming Superbugs!

    Society’s “miracle drugs” are failing. Superbugs proliferate. Are we losing the battle against antibiotic resistance? This doesn’t have to be the case, says David McAdams, professor of business administration and economics at The Fuqua School of Business and Duke’s Department of Economics. Hear more at the next Periodic Tables, Durham's Science Cafe. This event is cosponsored by the NC Science Festival. Periodic Tables is an informal science gathering during which invited speakers share interesting, relevant science to the general public in an engaging and interactive way.

  4. Volleyball Drop-In

    April 11, 2017, 7:00 PM - 10:00 PM @ Grey Culbreth Middle School Gymnasium (located in back left of school)

    The Carrboro Recreation and Parks Department Drop-In programs allow participants the opportunity to play in an informal setting and to meet others of similar sporting interest. Groups are welcome to attend. Ages: 16+ (Experienced players 15&U are welcomed to attend w/ a parent)
