  1. Cleaning Carrboro

    September 16, 2017, 9:00 AM - 11:30 AM @ Carrboro Century Center

    The goal of this event is to rid our environment of litter by cleaning the local Carrboro area and promoting environmental education. We must have enough volunteers to get the job done. The morning will consist of cleaning up trash and recycling debris left around Carrboro and our parks. Adults are welcome to participate! Please sign-up online or at the recreation front office. If you, your family, or group would like to help with the annual cleanup, please contact Jeremy Poythress at (919) 918-7392 or email jpoythress@townofcarrboro.org. Lunch provided for all registered volunteers! Registration Deadline is Friday, September 9, 2016.

  2. Tennis Play Day

    September 16, 2017, 9:00 AM - 11:00 AM @ Wilson Park

    CO-SPONSORED BY DURHAM ORANGE COMMUNITY TENNIS ASSOCIATION Participants will learn tennis skills and be able to test those skills in games and challenges. This event will have activities for the oldest and youngest members of your family, so bring everyone along. Please bring a racquet if you have one, however, we will have some loaners available. Come prepared for fun! Prior tennis experience not necessary! Ages: 5+

  3. Youth Fishing Clinic

    September 16, 2017, 9:00 AM - 11:00 AM @ Pond located near the entrance of the park.

    Parents and children will learn the basics about fishing including different equipment, techniques, sites, and regulations. You may even meet a fishing buddy or two! Supplies furnished. Bring a pole if you have one. Parents and youth must both be present to participate. Instructor: Shayne McKinley Pre-registration with Carrboro Recreation & Parks is required. Ages 5-15
