  1. Exceptional Children's Family Program

    Bringing art therapy to the families of children with exceptional needs! The Art Therapy Institute has been working in the Chapel Hill/Carrboro City Schools with the Exceptional Children's Program for the past ten years. We would like to expand our work to support the families of our EC students as well. We are happy to announce three summer art therapy groups in June and July that are geared towards supporting the families of EC students! Parent Group: Open to parents or caregivers of EC students Focusing on self-care, relaxation, and mindfulness techniques Sibling Group: Open to siblings of EC students Focusing on stress relief, self-esteem, and sense of identity Family Group: Open to EC students and their family members Open studio format where families get to use materials of their choice and make art together Focusing on positive communication, collaboration, and creating moments of connection and play

  2. Carrboro Farmers' Market Tomato Day!

    The one and only Carrboro Farmers’ Market Tomato Day is THIS SATURDAY! Bring your appetite to taste a huge variety of fresh, locally grown tomatoes. We will have an awesome tomato themed raffle, live music by Sentimental Johnny, a kids activity, a limited number of beautiful organic cotton Tomato Day t-shirts, recipes, variety lists, and more. The event starts at 8:30 A.M.

  3. Youth Fishing Clinic

    July 21, 2018, 9:00 AM - 11:00 AM @ Henry Anderson III Community Park Pond

    Parents and children (Ages 5-15) will learn the basics about fishing including different equipment, techniques, sites, and regulations. You may even meet a fishing buddy or two! Supplies furnished. Bring a pole if you have one. Parents and youth must both be present to participate. Pre-registration is required. Instructor: Shayne McKinley

  4. Dolly Parton's Imagination Library Kick-off Event

    July 21, 2018, 10:00 AM - 5:00 PM @ Kidzu Children's Museum

    Orange County Partnership for Young Children is partnering with Kidzu Children’s Museum to host Dolly Parton’s Imagination Library Kick-Off! Visit us at the table set up outside of Kidzu on Saturday, July 21, to register your child for Dolly Parton’s Imagination Library to receive a free, age-appropriate book EVERY month in the mail until the age of 5. The first 100 children under 5 years of age to sign up for Dolly Parton’s Imagination Library can enjoy the museum for FREE. Children must live in Orange County to be eligible for free admission. Kidzu will be open to the public, and all exhibits will be open. In addition, kids will enjoy climbing wall challenges, storytime, recipe making, and staff-led reading related activities.
