Parks Project continues to lend a helping hand |

The Carrboro Recreation and Parks Department is fortunate
to have some groups that contribute their time and effort
toward specific issues and projects within our community.
One of these groups is the Carrboro Parks Project.
The Carrboro Parks Project
-nonprofit group is currently fundraising for the design
and installation of an 18 hole Disc Golf Course at Anderson
Park. . This project is a community driven effort, with
support of the Board of Aldermen. Previous projects
include the fencing at the Anderson Dog Park, the shade
sail for the playground at Town Commons, and the purchase
of tennis backboards for Anderson and Wilson Parks.
If you would like to become involved in this or other
parks and recreation projects, contact Carrboro Parks Project.

CARRBORO~ A
BICYCLE FRIENDLY COMMUNITY
"The Town of Carrboro has made an ongoing commitment
to bicycle facility planning since the mid-1970s. Over
the past 25 years, the town has utilized its bonding
authority to develop bike lanes and bike paths, has
worked cooperatively to include bike lanes in all state
road improvement projects, and has amended its street
standards to include bike lanes as a requirement on
all collector roads. In recognition of these accomplishments,
Carrboro was recently recognized as a Bicycle Friendly
Community by the League of American Bicyclists."
