Housing and Community Services

The Housing and Community Services Department is dedicated to addressing one of the Town’s strategic priority areas:  to enhance and sustain the quality of life and place for everyone.  Specifically, Housing and Community Services works to implement the Town’s affordable housing goals and to support community nonprofits.

The Affordable Housing link to the left provides information about the work the Town is doing to preserve and create affordable housing, including our Affordable Housing Special Revenue Fund.  The link also provides affordable housing resources in our community.

Carrboro cares about all its Citizens including the disadvantaged and disabled. The Town makes annual appropriations for non-profits agencies that provide services to vulnerable populations, i.e. children, seniors, physically and mentally disabled, homeless, and other at risk individuals. The Town accepts applications from non-profits on an annual basis. See the Human Services Funding link to the left for more details on how to apply for funding.
