Past Meeting
The Carrboro Town Council met virtually Tuesday, Jan. 12, and took the following actions:
- National Mentoring Month: The Council proclaimed January 2021 as National Mentoring Month in the Town of Carrboro, and encourages members of the community to elevate and encourage mentoring for the sake of our younger generations and the future.
- Transportation Demand Management: The Council received an update on the status of the Transportation Demand Management (TDM) program, and supported continued participation in the program.
- Amendments to the Land Use Ordinance: The Council set a public hearing for Feb. 16 relating to the dimensional standards in the B-1(C) and B-1(G) zoning districts, permitting requirements for town-owned and operated facilities and tree canopy coverage standards.
- Amendment to FY 2020-2021 Adopted Budget for Purchase of Solid Waste Vehicle: The Council authorized the purchase of a new solid waste truck.
- Updated Gender Neutral Town Code: The Council adopted an updated Town Code with gender neutral language.
- Amend Town Code to Prohibit Discrimination in Employment and in Places of Public Accommodations: The Council adopted an ordinance amending Chapter 8 of the Town Code to prohibit discrimination in employment and in places of public accommodations. - Long Range Water Supply: The Council received an update from OWASA.
- 203 South Greensboro Project Principal Building Design Features: The Council received an update on the design process and approved the principal building design features identified to date.
- Updated Bicycle Plan: The Council adopted the Updated Bicycle Plan.
- Legislative Priorities for the 2021 Session of the General Assembly: The Council is providing their legislative priorities by email and deferred discussion to a future meeting.
